KCET Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Must have passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 / equivalent
- Should have studied:
- Physics & Mathematics (mandatory)
- One of: Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science
- Minimum marks:
- 45% (General)
- 40% (SC/ST/OBC – Karnataka candidates)
2. Domicile Requirement
- Must satisfy Karnataka domicile rules & Studied in Karnataka for 7 years
3. Entrance Exam Requirement
- Must appear for KCET exam conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority
- Admission is based on:
- KCET rank
- Board exam marks (in some calculations)
COMEDK Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Must have passed Class 12 / 2nd PUC / equivalent
- Should have studied:
- Physics & Mathematics (mandatory)
- Chemistry (compulsory)
- Minimum marks:
- 45% (General category)
- 40% (SC/ST/OBC candidates)
2. Open to All India Students
- No domicile restriction
- Students from any state in India can apply
- Major advantage over KCET
3. Entrance Exam Requirement
- Must appear for COMEDK UGET conducted by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka
- Admission is based purely on COMEDK rank
Management Quota Eligibility Criteria

- Must have passed Class 12 / 2nd PUC / equivalent required subjects
- Physics & Mathematics (mandatory)
- One of: Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics
2. Minimum Marks Requirement
- 60% in Physics, Mathematics subjects separately
3. Entrance Exam Requirement
- Candidate should compulsorily appear and have to obtain a rank in:

- Rank may not be very high, but qualification is generally expected.

Management Quota
The Government of Karnataka and the Private Engineering Colleges Association have a formal Seat Sharing Agreement to ensure a transparent and structured admission process every year. As per this agreement, private engineering colleges are given permission to fill a portion of their seats independently.
According to the seat sharing policy:
- Private engineering colleges are authorized to admit 25% of their total seats directly under the Management Quota.
- These seats are filled by the college management based on their own admission process and eligibility criteria.
- Students do not need to participate in the KCET / COMEDK counselling for these seats.
